Providing 25 years of professional tree experience and stump grinding to central N.C.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much experience do you have?

Lee Williams has run his own tree and stump grinding business for over 25 years. We are now dedicated to providing quality stump grinding only.

Are you insured against liability for damages?

Yes. Lee Williams is insured for up to $1 million dollars. (We have never had a claim in over 25 years of service!)

How deep do you grind the stump?

While the industry standard is 3”-5” below grade it is our policy to grind at least to 6” below the soil line (grade) and often 8" or more upon request.

How long will it take you to get our job?

Depending on our workload and when you call, we can often take the stump out the day you contact us. Even if we are busy we rarely take more than 2-3 days to get out to your site.

What happens to the chips?

The chip/soil mixture will be pushed back into the open hole and graded as level as possible. Any “mounding” will be graded as level as possible. Typically mounding will settle to level after the first or second saturating rain.

Do I need to be home for service?

As long as the stumps are accessible and there are no questions about utilities, buried watering systems or threats to architecture we can usually do our work whether you are on site or not.
